Red Curtain Addict

How JAM stabilized website performance, improved Core Web Vitals, and reduced technical debt for Red Curtain Addict — without a full rebuild.

Overview

Red Curtain Addict engaged JAM Creative Consulting to address critical website performance issues. Rather than a full redesign, JAM led a focused execution effort aimed at stabilizing performance, reducing technical debt, and delivering measurable improvements quickly.

The Situation

The site was experiencing significant performance degradation across desktop and mobile: page load times reaching 6.8 seconds, 900ms of blocked interactivity, nearly 3MB of unoptimized assets, and failing Core Web Vitals scores.

Constraints

No full redesign or platform migration; existing CMS, hosting, and tooling; live production traffic; a need for fast, measurable improvement.

How We Approached the Problem

JAM focused on identifying and resolving the highest-impact bottlenecks: code splitting, lazy loading, removal of unused JavaScript, production build optimization, third-party script compression, image optimization, and correcting a misconfigured Imgix integration.

The Results

Within 7–10 days, LCP improved from 6.8s to 1.0s (85% faster), TBT from 900ms to 30ms (97% reduction), Speed Index from 5.2s to 2.0s (62% faster). Desktop PageSpeed scores improved to 97/100, with mobile meeting Core Web Vitals thresholds.

Business Impact

Eligibility for improved SEO rankings; faster perceived performance; reduced bounce risk; stronger signal of engineering quality and operational maturity.
